Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Combination of cephalexin, a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, and levofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. This combination provides broad-spectrum coverage against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Beta-lactam (cephalexin) and fluoroquinolone (levofloxacin) combinations have shown synergistic effects in treating certain bacterial infections, with studies indicating reduced mortality in less severely ill patients with bacteremia caused by gram-negative bacilli and shorter time to defervescence compared to monotherapy.
