Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CER-002 is a small molecule, selective peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor delta (PPAR delta) agonist being developed for the treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Originally licensed from Nippon Chemiphar by ABIONYX Pharma (formerly Cerenis Therapeutics), the compound aims to elevate HDL cholesterol levels and halt the progression of atherosclerosis. In preclinical studies, it demonstrated efficacy in lipid modulation and vascular protection. A Phase I clinical trial has been completed, showing that the drug was safe and well-tolerated across all tested doses.
