CERASORB is a family of synthetic, resorbable bone graft substitute medical devices developed by Curasan AG. Composed primarily of high-purity beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP), these biomaterials are designed for bone regeneration in dental, orthopedic, trauma, and spinal surgeries. The material acts as an osteoconductive scaffold that supports the ingrowth of new bone tissue while undergoing cell-mediated resorption, eventually being completely replaced by the patient's own bone. It is available in various formulations, including granules (CERASORB M), a collagen-composite foam (CERASORB Foam), and a self-setting calcium phosphate cement (CERASORB CPC). These materials are surgically implanted or applied topically to bone defects to support osteogenesis and provide a scaffold for endogenous bone remodeling.
