Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cerebraca wafer is a biodegradable polymer wafer containing 25% (Z)-n-butylidenephthalide (BP) and 75% poly[carboxyphenoxy-propane/sebacic acid] (CPPSA) copolymer designed for direct implantation into the surgical cavity after brain tumor resection. It slowly releases BP over 14-21 days to eliminate residual tumor cells. The therapeutic mechanism involves BP's cytotoxic effect against tumor stem cells, synergistic effect with temozolomide, and inhibition of PD-L1 protein levels to activate T-cell cytotoxicity.
