Overview

Cervus and cucumis polypeptide is a traditional Chinese medicine injection composed of bioactive peptides extracted from Sika deer bone (Cervus nippon Temminck) and sweet melon seeds (Cucumis melo L), typically mixed at a 2:1 ratio. It is used primarily in China for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, bone fractures, and related conditions. The preparation contains more than 3 mg/mL total peptide content. Its mechanism of action involves inhibition of Receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand signaling pathway (RANKL) induced osteoclastogenesis signaling pathways in osteoclast precursor cells, thereby reducing inflammation, preventing bone erosion, promoting fracture healing, and modulating immune responses. Studies suggest it enhances anti-inflammatory factor secretion (such as HGF, PGE2, TSG6) when combined with umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell therapy for rheumatoid arthritis[1][3][6].
