Cetacol

Cetacol is a topical ophthalmic antibiotic formulation containing 0.5% w/v chloramphenicol, developed and marketed by Raymed Pharmaceuticals. It is indicated for the treatment of bacterial eye infections. Chloramphenicol is a broad-spectrum small molecule antibiotic that exerts its bacteriostatic effect by binding to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, thereby inhibiting the synthesis of essential proteins required for bacterial growth and replication.
