Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ceteric is a gummy formulation of cetirizine hydrochloride, a second-generation antihistamine developed by Seattle Gummy Company. It is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, as well as chronic idiopathic urticaria. As a selective H1-receptor antagonist, cetirizine inhibits the interaction of histamine with H1 receptors on effector cells, thereby reducing allergic responses such as sneezing, pruritus, and watery eyes. The gummy delivery system is intended to improve patient compliance and provide a convenient, waterless alternative to traditional tablets or liquid formulations.
