RPH-002 is a biosimilar of cetuximab developed by R-Pharm for the treatment of head and neck cancer and colorectal cancer. Cetuximab is a chimeric monoclonal antibody that targets the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), acting as an EGFR antagonist. By binding to EGFR on the surface of tumor cells, it inhibits receptor activation and downstream signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation, survival, angiogenesis, and metastasis. As a result, it functions both as an antineoplastic agent and immunotherapy. The reference product for this biosimilar is Erbitux (cetuximab). Clinical development has reached Phase 3 for both head and neck cancer as well as colorectal cancer[1][2][4].
