Overview

CEVA-102 is a cell therapy candidate consisting of mechanotransduction-enhanced mesenchymal stem cells (MT-MSCs) derived from bone marrow. It is being developed by Cellvation, a subsidiary of Fortress Biotech, in collaboration with the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston for the treatment of severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). The therapy is produced using a proprietary bioreactor called CEVA-D, which applies physical forces (mechanotransduction) to the cells to enhance their anti-inflammatory potency without the need for genetic manipulation. By increasing the cells' ability to modulate the immune response, CEVA-102 aims to reduce neuroinflammation and mitigate the secondary injury cascade that follows severe brain trauma.
