Overview

CEVA101 is an autologous bone marrow-derived mononuclear cell (BMMNC) therapy under development for the treatment of severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) in adults and children. The treatment involves harvesting the patient's own bone marrow, isolating and processing the mononuclear cells, and administering them via intravenous infusion within 48 hours of injury. The goal is to provide neuroprotection and potentially improve outcomes following acute, severe closed head injury. CEVA101 has received FDA Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy (RMAT) designation, facilitating expedited development and review. The therapy is being developed in partnership between Cellvation and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, with support from the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense[1][2][13].
