Overview

Cevipabulin is a synthetic, water-soluble small molecule tubulin-binding agent with potential antineoplastic activity. It binds at the vinca-binding site on tubulin but acts similarly to taxane-site binding agents by enhancing tubulin polymerization rather than inducing depolymerization. This disruption of microtubule dynamics inhibits cell division and reduces cellular growth, making it effective against various tumors including those resistant to paclitaxel and vincristine. Cevipabulin is stable, water-soluble, and can be administered intravenously or orally. It was developed for cancer treatment and has been studied in clinical trials up to phase II[1][3][7][10].
