Overview

Cevostamab is a bispecific monoclonal antibody designed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. It targets two antigens simultaneously: Fc receptor-homolog 5 (FcRH5) on myeloma cells and CD3 on T cells. By binding to both FcRH5 and CD3, cevostamab brings cytotoxic T lymphocytes into close proximity with FCRH5-expressing tumor cells, resulting in T-cell activation and targeted killing of the malignant plasma cells. This mechanism enables selective destruction of myeloma cells while sparing other cell types. Cevostamab is being developed by Genentech/Roche and has shown promising activity in heavily pre-treated patients with multiple myeloma who have progressed after BCMA-targeted therapies[1][3][5][6].
