Drug intelligence / Profile preview
cFGF23 is a C-terminal fragment of Fibroblast Growth Factor 23 (FGF23). It functions as a natural antagonist to intact FGF23 (iFGF23) signaling, blocking its activity. Research indicates its potential therapeutic utility in conditions characterized by elevated iFGF23, such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), cardiomyopathy, hypophosphatemia, and X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), where it has demonstrated the ability to improve heart and kidney function and attenuate FGF23 signaling. Beyond its therapeutic potential, cFGF23 is also studied as a biomarker for various physiological and pathological states.
