CFTX-2034

CFTX-2034 is an investigational antibody-based agonist of the somatostatin receptor type 5 (SSTR5), developed by Confo Therapeutics for the treatment of Post-Bariatric Hypoglycemia (PBH) and other forms of hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia. Nominated as a development candidate in late 2025, it represents Confo's first agonistic antibody candidate. The drug is designed to selectively activate SSTR5, a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that acts as a key negative regulator of insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells. In patients with PBH, the condition is driven by excessive postprandial insulin and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) secretion following weight loss surgery; CFTX-2034 aims to suppress these excessive elevations and reduce gastrointestinal motility, thereby restoring metabolic balance and preventing dangerously low blood sugar levels. The candidate is currently advancing through IND-enabling studies.
