Overview

CG016 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting CD38 (ADP-ribosyl cyclase/cyclic ADP-ribose hydrolase 1), developed by Shanghai ComGen Biopharmaceutical. CD38 is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is highly and uniformly expressed on the surface of multiple myeloma cells, making it an ideal therapeutic target. CG016 is designed to induce the death of CD38-expressing tumor cells through several immune-mediated mechanisms, including antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC), and antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP). Additionally, it may induce direct apoptosis upon binding. The drug is primarily positioned for the treatment of hematological malignancies, particularly multiple myeloma, where it aims to provide a targeted immunotherapy option.
