Overview

CG101 is a long-acting recombinant fusion protein that functions as a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonist, developed by Shanghai ComGen Biopharmaceutical. The drug is produced using the company's signature D2P (DNA-to-Protein) cell-free protein synthesis technology, which allows for the rapid production of high-quality proteins outside of traditional cellular environments. CG101 is being investigated for the treatment of metabolic disorders, primarily type 2 diabetes and obesity. Its mechanism of action involves activating the GLP-1 receptor to stimulate insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner, inhibit glucagon secretion, and delay gastric emptying, thereby assisting in blood sugar regulation and weight management.
