Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CG105 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). Developed by Cells & Genes Biotech, a subsidiary of Huahai Pharmaceutical, CG105 is manufactured using a proprietary non-viral DNA targeted delivery platform. This platform utilizes electroporation-mediated DNA delivery to introduce the CAR gene directly into the T-cell genome, avoiding the risk of insertional mutagenesis associated with viral vectors, simplifying the manufacturing process, and significantly reducing production costs. In early investigator-initiated trials, CG105 demonstrated high efficacy and a favorable safety profile, with patients achieving complete response (CR) or stringent complete response (sCR) without experiencing immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS). The drug received clinical trial approval (IND) from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China in March 2026.
