Overview

CG201 is an investigational therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by CG Therapeutics, designed to elicit an immune response against human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Many cancers, including colorectal and lung cancers, secrete hCG to promote tumor growth, angiogenesis, and immune system evasion. By stimulating the production of anti-hCG antibodies, CG201 aims to neutralize these pathological forms of the hormone. The vaccine technology was originally researched in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) as a potential contraceptive before being pivoted to oncology. Clinical development reached Phase 2 for colorectal cancer and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but the program has since been discontinued.
