Overview

CG202 is a small molecule inhibitor of the Bromodomain and Extra-Terminal (BET) family of proteins, currently in preclinical development by ConverGene for the treatment of liquid tumors. Developed as part of the CVG101 program in collaboration with the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the NIH, CG202 functions as an epigenetic regulator. By binding to BET bromodomains, it prevents the recognition of acetylated lysine residues on histones, thereby disrupting the recruitment of transcriptional machinery to oncogenic promoters (such as MYC). This mechanism leads to the depletion of cancer-promoting gene products and induces growth arrest or apoptosis in hematologic malignancies.
