Overview

**cG250-TNF** is an investigational, recombinant antibody-cytokine fusion protein developed for **carbonic anhydrase IX-positive renal cell carcinoma**, particularly clear-cell renal cell carcinoma. It uses the tumor-targeting specificity of the chimeric G250 antibody component to bind carbonic anhydrase IX on tumor cells and deliver a tumor necrosis factor-alpha payload locally. In renal-cell-carcinoma xenograft models, intravenously administered cG250-TNF accumulated in carbonic anhydrase IX-positive tumors and produced antitumor activity that was enhanced by coadministration of interferon-gamma. The reported evidence is preclinical; the publication concluded that clinical evaluation was warranted. ([europepmc.org](https://europepmc.org/article/MED/19384924))
