**CG7870 + docetaxel** is an experimental combination therapy developed for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant (hormone-refractory) prostate cancer. CG7870 is a prostate-specific, conditionally replicative oncolytic adenovirus; it is engineered with E1A under the control of the rat probasin promoter and E1B under the control of the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) promoter, restricting viral replication and cytotoxicity to prostate tissue. Docetaxel is a well-established chemotherapeutic agent that promotes tubulin polymerization, stabilizes microtubules, inhibits depolymerization, and thereby blocks mitosis, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. The combination has shown synergistic anti-cancer effects in preclinical models and was evaluated in terminated phase 1/2 clinical trials for patients with metastatic hormone-refractory prostate cancer[1][4][5].
