Overview

CG9 (also known as CG-9) is a small molecule glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) inhibitor developed by CrystalGenomics. It targets both GSK-3α and GSK-3β isoforms. Preclinical studies demonstrated that CG9 inhibits breast cancer cell proliferation by inducing estrogen receptor α (ERα) degradation and down-regulating cyclin D, as well as stimulating caspase-dependent apoptosis. It was also investigated as a potential treatment for Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia. However, its development has been terminated.
