CG923308 is a preclinical small molecule inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) developed by Cullgen and GNI-EPS Pharmaceuticals (subsidiaries of GNI Group). CDK2 is a critical regulator of the eukaryotic cell cycle, specifically mediating the transition from the G1 to S phase and progression through the S phase. Dysregulation or overexpression of CDK2 is a common feature in various malignancies, including breast cancer, where it is often implicated in resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitors. CG923308 is designed to selectively inhibit CDK2 activity, thereby inducing cell cycle arrest and inhibiting the proliferation of tumor cells. It is currently being investigated for the treatment of breast cancer and other solid tumors.
