Overview

CGB-600 is an investigational DNA aptamer therapy developed by CAGE Bio, licensed from TAGCyx Biotechnologies. It is designed as a topical treatment for vitiligo, specifically nonsegmental facial vitiligo. The drug functions by selectively binding to and neutralizing interferon gamma (IFN-γ), a key cytokine involved in the autoimmune destruction of melanocytes, thereby downregulating autoimmune activity. CAGE Bio utilizes its proprietary ionic liquid drug delivery platform, originating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, to enable non-invasive topical delivery of this large nucleic acid drug into the skin. CGB-600 is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials.
