Overview

CGB3002 is a recombinant human monoclonal antibody being developed by ChainGen Biopharma as a biosimilar of aducanumab for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It specifically targets aggregated forms of amyloid-beta (Aβ), including soluble oligomers and insoluble fibrils, which are thought to play a central role in the neurodegenerative process of Alzheimer's. By binding to these amyloid plaques, CGB3002 is intended to facilitate their clearance from the brain through microglial-mediated phagocytosis, thereby slowing cognitive and functional decline. The drug is currently in Phase I clinical development, where it is being evaluated for safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and immunogenicity in healthy participants, with comparisons made to the reference product to establish biosimilarity.
