Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CGC-11093 is a novel small molecule polyamine analog developed by Cellgate for the treatment of various cancers. It functions as an apoptosis stimulant by targeting polyamine metabolism, which is essential for tumor cell proliferation and angiogenesis. The drug has been primarily investigated for its potential in treating multiple myeloma, where it has demonstrated the ability to selectively enhance the antimyeloma activity of bortezomib by augmenting JNK-mediated apoptosis. Additionally, CGC-11093 has shown efficacy in inhibiting the growth of human prostate tumor xenografts in preclinical models and possesses anti-angiogenic properties. It has completed Phase I clinical testing.
