Overview

CGEN-15001 is a recombinant Fc fusion protein developed by Compugen Ltd. for the treatment of various autoimmune diseases. It consists of the extracellular domain of CGEN-15001T, a novel immune checkpoint and member of the B7/CD28 costimulatory family, fused to an IgG Fc domain. The drug functions by restoring immune tolerance through the inhibition of T cell activation and the modulation of immune responses, specifically by shifting the balance from Th1/Th17 inflammatory responses toward Th2 responses and promoting the differentiation of regulatory T cells (Tregs). Preclinical studies have shown efficacy in models of rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, and psoriasis, suggesting a potential for antigen-specific immune restoration without broad immunosuppression.
