Overview

CGEN-15001T is a membrane protein identified by Compugen as a novel B7-like immune checkpoint, later recognized as immunoglobulin-like domain containing receptor 2 (ILDR2), and developed primarily as an immuno-oncology target. It functions as a negative regulator of T cell activity, with its extracellular domain fused to an IgG Fc domain (CGEN-15001/ILDR2-Fc) showing robust inhibition of T cell activation, skewing responses away from pro‑inflammatory Th1/Th17 toward regulatory phenotypes and inducing antigen‑specific immune tolerance in multiple preclinical autoimmune disease models.[1][2][3] For oncology, antibody therapeutics targeting CGEN-15001T/ILDR2 are intended to block this inhibitory signal in the tumor microenvironment, thereby unleashing antitumor T‑cell responses; this program was licensed to Bayer and later advanced as BAY 1905254 (bapotulimab).[1][7][10]
