Overview

CGEN-25017 is a novel therapeutic peptide antagonist of the Angiopoietin/Tie-2 signaling pathway, discovered by Compugen using its disease-associated conformation (DAC) blockers computational discovery platform and subsequently partnered with BioLineRx, where it is also designated BL-8010.[5][9][10][13] By inhibiting the Angiopoietin/Tie-2 axis, which is critical for angiogenesis, blood vessel maturation, and vascular endothelium integrity, the peptide exerts potent anti-angiogenic effects and has shown positive therapeutic activity in preclinical models of retinopathy and other angiogenesis-driven conditions, supporting its development for disorders characterized by pathological neovascularization such as retinal vascular diseases and cancer.[1][5][9][10][13]
