Overview

CGEN-855A is a novel 21-amino acid peptide agonist developed by Compugen Ltd. using a computational platform to predict G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) peptide agonists. It acts as a mimetic of annexin A1 (ANXA1) and targets formyl-peptide receptor-like 1 (FPRL1, also known as ALX or FPR2) and formyl-peptide receptor-like 2 (FPRL2 or FPR3). In preclinical studies, CGEN-855A has demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory and cardioprotective effects, including the inhibition of neutrophil recruitment and reduction of infarct size in models of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury. The drug is intended for the treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory conditions and reperfusion-mediated tissue damage.
