Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CGS-200 vehicle is the inactive control formulation used in clinical trials for CGS-200, a topical capsaicin treatment developed by Propella Therapeutics for the management of osteoarthritis knee pain. It is a multi-component liquid formulation that contains all the excipients and ingredients of the active CGS-200 product but lacks the active pharmaceutical ingredient, capsaicin. In clinical studies, such as the Phase 2 trial (NCT03528369), it serves as a double-blind comparator to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 1% (CGS-200-1) and 5% (CGS-200-5) capsaicin concentrations. The vehicle is designed to match the physical properties of the active drug to maintain the integrity of the blinding process.
