Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CGT19 is an autologous, second-generation chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target CD19-positive B-cell malignancies. Originally developed by Vector BioMed, the CD19 CAR-T construct has been in-licensed by Cartogene Therapeutics for development and manufacturing in India and other low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The construct incorporates FMC63-derived variable regions (scFv) targeting CD19, CD8 hinge and transmembrane domains, a 4-1BB co-stimulatory domain, and a CD3ζ activation domain. To make the therapy affordable and accessible, Cartogene Therapeutics utilizes a rapid, semi-automated 7-day manufacturing platform that employs a proprietary negative-selection method (IsoPure) for T-cell enrichment and the Sepax C-Pro Cell Processing System, significantly reducing vein-to-vein times.
