Overview

CH-1B9 is a human monoclonal immunoglobulin M (IgM) antibody that targets tumor-associated antigens expressed on the surface of various epithelial cancers, most notably ovarian cancer. Developed primarily for radioimmunotherapy, CH-1B9 is often conjugated with radioisotopes such as Indium-111 for diagnostic imaging or Yttrium-90 for localized radiotherapy. Due to its high molecular weight as an IgM pentamer, the antibody is particularly well-suited for intraperitoneal administration. This route of delivery exploits the slow clearance of large molecules from the peritoneal cavity, allowing for prolonged exposure to tumor cells within the peritoneum—the primary site of metastasis for ovarian cancer—while reducing systemic toxicity compared to intravenous administration.
