CH-BPNs-NBP

**CH-BPNs-NBP** is an injectable thermosensitive chitosan hydrogel formulation containing black phosphorus nanosheets and dl-3-n-butylphthalide. It is being investigated as a local treatment for periodontitis, including diabetic periodontitis. The black phosphorus nanosheets provide reactive oxygen species-scavenging activity, while dl-3-n-butylphthalide is intended to support jaw vascular-unit and lymphatic function. In preclinical periodontitis models, the formulation reduced oxidative stress and inflammation, promoted macrophage polarization toward an M2 phenotype, improved iron-homeostasis markers, protected lymphatic endothelial cells, and reduced alveolar bone loss.
