Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ch-PT-8 is a preclinical small molecule chalcone derivative designed to target the NLRP3 inflammasome and inhibit reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. Developed by researchers at the Kansas City VA Medical Center, Ch-PT-8 is being investigated for the treatment of epilepsy and neurodegenerative disorders. In preclinical models, the compound has demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, notably suppressing interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) secretion and reducing both intracellular and mitochondrial ROS levels.
