Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CH.005 (also known as ch.005) is a cross-reactive human monoclonal antibody that targets the conserved central helix (CH) epitope within the S2 subunit of the coronavirus spike glycoprotein. Identified from COVID-19 convalescent donors, CH.005 exhibits broad binding reactivity across betacoronaviruses. Structural characterization via cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) has revealed its distinct binding pose and contact residues on the prefusion-stabilized SARS-CoV-2 S2 protein. It is being developed as a potential broad-spectrum therapeutic and prophylactic agent against current and emerging coronavirus infections by Stanford University and the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Bellinzona).
