Overview

ch122A2 is a chimeric monoclonal antibody targeting CD303 (also known as BDCA-2), a surface protein specifically expressed on plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs). Developed by the LFB Group in collaboration with University Hospital, Lille, this antibody is engineered with low fucose content in its human IgG1 constant (Fc) region using LFB's EMABLING technology to optimize its biological activity. The primary mechanism of action involves binding to CD303, which leads to the inhibition of type I interferon (IFN) secretion by pDCs. Since pDCs are the main source of type I IFNs, which drive inflammation in various autoimmune conditions, ch122A2 is being investigated for its potential to reduce the inflammatory response in diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, and Sjögren's syndrome.
