Overview

CH505 M5 gp120 is a recombinant HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein (gp120) vaccine candidate. It is derived from a specific variant sequence identified approximately five months (M5) after infection in the CH505 lineage, which was a longitudinal study of an HIV-1-infected individual who naturally developed broadly neutralizing antibodies (bNAbs). The vaccine is designed as part of a sequential immunization strategy, often referred to as EnvSeq-1, which aims to guide the maturation of B cells toward the production of bNAbs by presenting a series of envelope proteins that mimic the natural evolution of the virus within the CH505 donor. It is typically administered via intramuscular injection and adjuvanted with GLA-SE (a TLR4 agonist) to enhance the immune response.
