CH505TF gp120 is a recombinant HIV-1 envelope (Env) glycoprotein subunit vaccine candidate, specifically the "transmitted/founder" (TF) form of the clade C HIV-1 Env protein, known as gp120. It is designed to induce immune responses—particularly precursors for broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs)—against HIV. The protein is produced via recombinant DNA technology in mammalian cell lines using either stable or transient transfection methods, with both approaches shown to yield equivalent safety and immunogenicity profiles in clinical trials. The vaccine has been evaluated primarily in combination with the adjuvant GLA-SE (glucopyranosyl lipid A-stable emulsion), aiming to enhance immunogenicity. Its main indication is prevention of HIV infection, especially in infants born to mothers living with HIV[2][6][7][8][10].
