Overview

ChAd3-hliNSmut is a prophylactic vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. It utilizes a chimpanzee adenovirus serotype 3 (ChAd3) vector encoding a mutated form of the HCV nonstructural proteins, with an invariant chain adjuvant to enhance immunogenicity. The vaccine is designed to stimulate robust CD4+ and CD8+ T cell responses against HCV antigens, aiming to provide protective immunity by boosting cellular immune responses. The primary indication for ChAd3-hliNSmut is chronic hepatitis C infection, and it has been studied in combination with MVA-hliNSmut as part of prime-boost vaccination regimens in early-phase clinical trials. The vaccine was initially developed at Oxford University and ReiThera Srl, with further development by GlaxoSmithKline[1][6][7][8].
