Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ChAd3-MARV** is a replication-defective chimpanzee adenovirus type 3 (ChAd3)-vectored vaccine expressing the glycoprotein (GP) of the Marburg virus (MARV) Angola strain. Developed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Vaccine Research Center (VRC), it elicits rapid and durable humoral and cell-mediated immune responses, including GP-specific IgG antibodies, providing 100% protection against lethal MARV challenge in nonhuman primates (NHPs) as early as one week post-single-shot vaccination and lasting up to one year. The vaccine has demonstrated safety and immunogenicity in Phase 1 clinical trials and is advancing to Phase 2 trials supported by BARDA funding, with manufacturing by ReiThera for enhanced stability in a new clinical formulation buffer.[1][3][4][5][9]
