ChAdOx1 CCHF is a viral vector vaccine candidate developed by the University of Oxford's Jenner Institute for the prevention of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF). The vaccine utilizes the ChAdOx1 platform, which is based on a replication-deficient chimpanzee adenovirus vector. This vector is engineered to carry the genetic sequence for the glycoprotein precursor (GPC) of the CCHF virus. Upon intramuscular injection, the vector enters host cells and expresses the CCHF antigens, thereby stimulating the immune system to produce specific antibodies and T-cell responses. CCHF is a severe tick-borne viral disease with a high case-fatality rate, and this vaccine is one of the leading candidates currently in early-phase clinical development to address this significant public health threat.
