Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ChAdOx1-HBV + MVA-HBV + nivolumab is a combination investigational regimen involving two therapeutic hepatitis B virus (HBV) vaccines and an immune checkpoint inhibitor. **ChAdOx1-HBV** is a chimpanzee adenovirus vector-based vaccine encoding major HBV antigens and a genetic adjuvant designed to induce strong T cell immunity against HBV, developed for chronic hepatitis B infection. **MVA-HBV** is a recombinant Modified Vaccinia Ankara virus expressing HBV antigens, used as a vaccine booster following priming with ChAdOx1-HBV to enhance the adaptive immune response. **Nivolumab** is an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody that blocks programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) receptor signaling, reactivating T cells and enhancing immune clearance of virus-infected cells. This triplet regimen aims to restore and amplify anti-HBV immune responses to achieve a functional cure in chronic hepatitis B, leveraging both active vaccination and immune checkpoint blockade.
