ChAdOx1 Marburg is an investigational viral vector vaccine developed by the University of Oxford to prevent Marburg virus disease. It utilizes the ChAdOx1 platform, which is based on a modified simian (chimpanzee) adenovirus vector, to deliver genetic material encoding Marburg virus antigens. This approach is designed to elicit both humoral (B cell) and cellular (T cell) immune responses against the Marburg virus, a highly virulent filovirus that causes severe hemorrhagic fever. The vaccine is currently being evaluated in a Phase I first-in-human clinical trial (MAGIC-01) to assess its safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults aged 18–55 years, administered as one or two intramuscular doses.
