ChAdOx1 MenB.1 is an investigational recombinant viral vector vaccine developed by the University of Oxford for the prevention of meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroup B (MenB). It utilizes the ChAdOx1 platform, which is based on a replication-deficient chimpanzee adenovirus vector, to deliver and express a modified form of the factor H binding protein (fHbp), a key surface protein of the MenB bacterial membrane. By expressing this antigen, the vaccine aims to induce protective serum bactericidal antibody responses. In a Phase I/IIa dose-escalation study (the VAMBOX trial), the vaccine demonstrated a favorable safety profile and elicited protective antibody responses in 100% of recipients against a targeted MenB strain after two doses.
