Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 + paracetamol is a COVID-19 vaccination protocol where paracetamol is administered prophylactically before and after ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccination to reduce vaccine-associated reactogenicity. ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 is a replication-deficient adenoviral vector vaccine that encodes the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein to induce immune responses. Clinical studies showed that prophylactic paracetamol (1g every 6 hours for 24 hours) significantly reduced local and systemic reactions including pain, fever, chills, muscle ache, headache, and malaise while maintaining the vaccine's immunogenicity.
