Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ChAdOx1 NipahB is a viral vector vaccine candidate developed by the University of Oxford in collaboration with the Serum Institute of India (SII) to prevent Nipah virus infection. The vaccine utilizes the ChAdOx1 platform, a replication-deficient chimpanzee adenoviral vector, to deliver the genetic sequence of the Nipah virus glycoprotein (G). This glycoprotein is a critical component for viral entry and a primary target for the host's neutralizing antibody response. Funded by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), the vaccine is designed to provide protection against a highly lethal zoonotic pathogen for which no approved vaccines currently exist. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development.
