ChAdOx2 LungVax is an investigational cancer prevention vaccine developed by the University of Oxford in collaboration with the Francis Crick Institute and University College London. It utilizes a non-replicating chimpanzee adenovirus (ChAdOx2) viral vector platform—the same technology used in the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine—to deliver DNA encoding the cancer-associated antigens MAGE-A3 and NY-ESO-1. The vaccine is designed to prime the immune system to recognize and eliminate cells expressing these antigens, which are frequently found in lung cancer, thereby preventing the development or recurrence of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It is currently being evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial for patients with resected early-stage NSCLC.
