Chaetoglobosin A is a macrocyclic alkaloid and mycotoxin belonging to the cytochalasan family, primarily produced by the fungus *Chaetomium globosum*. It is characterized by its potent cytotoxic, antifungal, and antiparasitic properties. Its anticancer mechanism involves the induction of apoptosis via the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), inhibition of mitosis, and modulation of several intracellular signaling pathways, including the activation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), and the regulation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling axis. Beyond its antitumor potential in colorectal and bladder cancers, chaetoglobosin A has been investigated as a supplement in clinical embryology to improve the outcomes of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) by facilitating spindle or pronuclear transfer and reducing oocyte degeneration. It also serves as a significant biocontrol agent in agriculture against various phytopathogens.
