Chaetrytide is a synthetic cationic antimicrobial peptide (AMP) developed by Wuhan Moore Biotech Co., Ltd. for the treatment of wound and skin infections. It exhibits potent broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, particularly against Gram-positive pathogens such as *Staphylococcus aureus* and methicillin-resistant *Staphylococcus aureus* (MRSA). The mechanism of action involves the electrostatic attraction of the cationic peptide to the negatively charged components of the bacterial cell membrane, leading to membrane insertion, pore formation, and loss of membrane integrity. This disruption results in the leakage of essential intracellular ions and molecules, causing rapid bacterial cell death. Chaetrytide is designed to minimize the development of bacterial resistance compared to traditional antibiotics and is primarily developed for topical administration to promote healing in infected wounds.
